What would Vincent do?
(October 11, 2007)

So last week during a design review and brainstorming session someone used the phrase...

"What would Vincent do?"

This was intended to inspire us all to think as though we were Vincent Van Gogh and perhaps do something with bold broad strokes. I think it worked for that project - we'll know next week if the client is satisfied.

It got me thinking of how I deal with road blocks and what appear to be dead ends regardless of in what part of my life. Just what would someone I admire, someone with a proven record, do in said situation? Then I realized that this theory is easy to manipulate - based on what your own proclivity in a given situation - you choose to follow someone who'd do what you most want to do.
